Mr. Chris Kennedy

Grade 7 Homeroom

Teaches: 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Social Studies and 7th Grade Religion

Mr. Kennedy joins SJS this year having taught social studies at both the middle and high school levels. His experience also includes time in the Baltimore County public Schools and Loyola Blakefield in Towson.

Other teaching experience: Prior to his career in education, Mr. Kennedy taught continuing education classes in the real estate and medical industries. He also volunteered at the South Baltimore Learning Center, working as a tutor and mentor in the adult literacy program.

Undergraduate degree(s): B.S. in European History, Washington and Lee University

Graduate degree: M.A.T in secondary education with a concentration in Social Studies, Loyola University.

Certification: MD Certified in Secondary Education.
Originally from: Bowie, MD. Graduated from DeMatha Catholic High School

Interests/hobbies: Mr. Kennedy is one of the founding board members of Athletes Serving Athletes, a local charity which enables children and young adults faced with physical challenges to experience the thrill of athletic competition. He enjoys skiing and kayaking with his wife Michelle, his 11 year old son , Will, and his nine year old daughter, Allie. Mr. Kennedy is an enthusiastic lacrosse coach, having coached young boys and girls from 4 years old to 19.
